I have been busy collecting silk and silk velvet ikats from Uzbekistan to make into our range of very popular cushions. In addition to graphic black and white, we are adding rich greens and pinks and amazing blues and corals to lead us into summer. Most of the designs are in contemporary weaves of dots and, the perennial favourite, chevrons.
As you may know ikats are a traditional weave, found all over Asia and central Asia. The fabric is handwoven tightly on narrow looms. The dyes are generally natural, although contemporary ikats can have more jewel like tones by using synthetic dyes.
The feel of these cushions are amazing & we are mixing them with leathers and linens to give the cushions a bit of an edge. Backed with Libeco belgian linen and with the detail of mother of pearl buttons, you won’t find anything more luxurious.
We’ll have them ready in store after Chinese New Year.Read More

I have been having fun knocking around the studio with my camera. I quite enjoy product photography- it makes you really consider the shapes and textures of a piece as you work out lighting. Here are a few pieces from my fave ceramics designer, Emma Bridgewater and a vintage Tudric ( English Arts and Crafts- turn of the century) pewter tea set with a cute woven handle.
Exploring the art of cinemagraphs too….Read More

Yumiko Sekine couldn’t find simple and beautiful linens that could be used around her home so she decided to develop her own. Working with linen manufacturers in Lithuania, she designed a range of simple, elegant and affordable linens in muted colours that look great in your home.
The linen is thick and soft and comes in subtle stripes, bolder ginghams and of course plains.
A standout in the collection are the resin coated linen trays. These are great to serve your tea and sandwiches on in a casual summer setting. Mix with linen napkins and you have your entertaining all sewn up. Monocle magazine likes these so much they have them in their own store. Now we have them in ours.
